Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government commissions Kiruhura Agro-facilities under CAIIP-3 Project
THE PERMANENT SECRETARY, MINISTRY OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT COMMISSIONS KIRUHURA DISTRICT AGRO- FACILITIES UNDER COMMUNITY AGRICULTURAL INFRASTRUCTURAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAMME (CAIIP -3) WORTH UGANDA SHS.1.4 BILLION
The Permanent Secretary (PS) Ministry of Local Government, Ben Kumumanya commissioned four (4) Kiruhura District agro-facilities of Naama Dairy in Kinoni, Coffee Huller in Kitura, Maize Mill in Nkungu and Milk Cooler at Ibaare in Kazo. These facilities were constructed under Community Agricultural Infrastructural Improvement Programme CAIIP-3 Project funded by the World Bank and Government of Uganda. The facilities commissioned include: Kitura Coffee Huller, Nkungu Maize Mill, Ibaare Milk Cooler in Kazo and Naama Milk Cooler in Kinoni.
The PS was so grateful of the works and achievements registered under CAIIP project. He was so impressed by the quality of work done and visionary leadership focused to transform socio-economic lives of the people of Kiruhura through value addition to agricultural products produced in Kiruhura District.
The PS in his remarks pledged to lobby for more support to the District having been impressed by value for money achieved. He further pledged to work with other ministries and relevant stakeholders to fight ticks that have remained a serious challenge to livestock farming in the District and the entire cattle corridor.
